BWTV Network is not playing when it comes to releasing their original content for us all for free. Just when we thought it was going to be only about Between Women, here comes Michelle A. Daniel creator & writer of Between Women with, Couples Coaching.
Michelle stated that she created Couples Coaching in 2016 for couples to have a safe, and sacred space to work on their relationship spiritually. The goal was to find coaches/elders that could be trusted and that were also spiritual themselves.
Season one is coached by Bah’Dori Oyanna & A’La Omie who have been married for nine years. Their capability to love and heal through past experience, communicate and not bail during hard times is what makes their marriage goals. The hardest thing about being vulnerable is praying that that person doesn’t leave us and we are left feeling that we can’t trust anyone else after that.
Couples Coaching season one trailer gives us some clues one the couples trust issues and how this may end, but what they didn’t give us was hope. So let’s break this down. Not to say we know how this will end, but the second they introduced themselves it was clear that the two had different times of how long they had been in their relationship.
We continue with Emeila stating that she came into the relationship with opens arms and it seems as if Paige didn’t clear up a few things on her end before committing. Now, I know the gay scene is small, but damn what are the odds of Paige, Emeila and the ex all working at the same company? It gets juicy when Paige talks about an incident that happened at the job with Emeila and the ex . We don’t know the details of the exchange or if it was in the hall exchange or maybe someone got roughed up, but whatever happened Paige continued to talk to the ex after the incident. This seems as if it ticked Emeila off to the point she now doesn’t view Paige as loyal. It seems as if Paige was being loyal, but may have gotten caught in the middle.
Paige asked Emeila, “Why are you with me?” in which Emeila stated that she has been trying to break up with Paige and wasn’t successful. Now we know how lesbians break up, so I’m going to go with Emeila on the fact that, she didn’t really try, well at least hard enough for the relationship to be over.
The script changes when we hear how Paige tells the coaches that Emeila may be embarrassed by her in public places when she speaks. Paige feelsinf are hurt at the fact that Emeila taps her to be quiet in public places with people. You immediately feel empathy for Paige as she feels she’s not smart enough to be on Emeila level. Emeila did state that she had different standard levels in the beginning.
Not to say this warrants someone cheating, but how hurtful to be with someone who is embarrassed of you? Puts you down in front of people? Emeila looks hurt that Paige feels this way and seems to feel bad for her actions. There is no respect in the relationship from Emeila’s point of view, but Paige seems like the one that is completely fed up.
Just when you think this may be toxic enough, Emeila is accused of invading Paige’s privacy by paying a company, monthly to retrieve Paige’s cloud information and has read all Paige’s messages. This is where the insecurity seems to stem from when it comes to Emeila.
Emeila at this point doesn’t have much to say, and it looks as if she didn’t want Paige to air out her dirty laundry. Paige reaches her breaking point with Emeila and goes in and states that she can’t take it anymore. In the trailer Paige leaves Emeila sitting alone with a face of disappointment and now we are wondering what the hell happened?
I wanted us to hear more from the elders in the teaser, but getting to know Paige and Emeila was enough for me to tune in to see how the elders will handle and help this couple through their issues.
Make sure you guys are tuned in May 21st @ 10am.
